Bench Pod build tutorial 2
Check the fit of the notched section with the 1" x 1" tube to
make sure it fits square and with no big gaps. If the fit is good
you can tack this to the main 1 1/2" section
The next step is to make the hole and slots in the rear leg for the
elevator screw. Measure back from the pintle hole 11 1/2" and drill a 3/4"
hole through the leg a unibit works best for this.
Next locate the holes for the elevator screw on the top and bottom.
Stand the leg so the rear angle cut is flat on the bench and draw a vertical
line through the center of the 3/4" hole, then draw a line across the top
and bottom of the leg. Measure out 1/4" on both sides of the line and drill
2 3/8" holes on both sides.
Now cut out the center portion between the holes to form a slot for the
elevator screw.
