Bench Pod build tutorial 4
Building the pintle:
Note: If you are purchasing a kit these parts are pre made

Cut 2 pieces of 1 1/2" x 1/4" flat stock 2" long. Square them off and make them exactly the
same length, these will be the sides. Cut another piece 2. 388" long for the bottom. You can
measure the thickness of your gun at the pintle point and use that as a measurement. You want
the gun to fit snugly with only about .030" clearance from side to side. Square off this part.
Measure in and down 3/4" on the 2" pieces and center punch the spot, using a
compass scribe a semi circle on the part. Clamp both parts in a vice and drill a 3/8" pilot
hole through both parts. Bolt the parts together and grind the radius on the top.
Drill and chamfer a 1/2" hole in the plate for the pintle stud. Cut a
1/2" x 2 1/2" SAE bolt to 2 1/4" and square and chamfer the top.
Assemble the two pintle sides on a section of 3/8" threaded rod, make
them square and the proper distance apart.
Clamp the bottom plate in place and weld it up.
