Semi Auto Bren Tutorial 4
The top weld was ground flush, Now it is time to clean up the upper
cuts on the sides.
The receiver was set up in the mill again and a slot was cut with a
5/16" cutter to remove the torch cut areas. Only the upper section was cut
as I plan on making fillers for the bottom with sections from another
receiver.
A filler piece was made and fitted tightly to the cut, then welded in.
The process was repeated for the other side. The sides of  the fillers were
beveled to get a deep penetrating weld.
After welding the welds were machined down and polished with 1 1/2"
60 grit flap wheels in a die grinder. The next 3 photos show the finished
welds.
