UK 59 Build Tutorial
The UK 59 is a gas operated, belt fed LMG in 7.62x54R. It has several
unique features, the simplicity of the belt feed and the grip being used to cock
the mechanism being the most unique.
The first step will be to remove the naughty bits from the bolt carrier and
to cut the clearance for the denial Island in the receiver. The bolt & carrier are
plated and hard as hell, a carbide cutter just barely cuts it, so grinding off
some material first is a good idea.

First remove the sear, as shown in the photo.
Next I machined away some of the area that contacts the firing pin, I am
not sure how I will make the extension yet so I just removed the contact area.
For a carrier block I chose to fill the receiver slot for the carrier in the
front. I did the left side as the belt mechanism rides on the right side of the
carrier and it may interfere with it's operation.
I machined two slots in the lower sides of the bolt to clear the bolt
denial pins. This completes the work for now on the bolt and carrier.
