Action Arms
The most important part of this conversion is you must make sure that F/A action
arms or plates and locks can NOT be inserted in the receiver box.  Whatever sideplate
you use there must be denial islands and your action arms or plates must match up with
these islands.
You must weld up the slot in both the right and left plates and match them with the
modifieded lock.  I have found that 316 stainless, and of course TIG only, works best.
Also, keep the heat as low as you can.  Make the cuts for the denial islands before you
weld because of heat issues but I would weld right away because of compliance issues.
Adjust the slots as required but just make sure that a F/A lock will not drop in.
Polish and round all corners and match the profile of the rail and this is pretty easy, this
is the easiest part of this conversion.
These photos show the cuts required for the Halo Mfg plate, adjust as required for
whatever plate you use.
Use the 1/4in  carbide end mill provided in the conversion kit for milling
the action arms.  These guys are tough but easily tamed with carbide.
