MG 42 bolt conversion
This tutorial will guide you through converting a bolt to semi auto using the V2.0
bolt conversion kit.  For welding on the bolt extension and retracting stud a mild
stainless alloy rod such as E308 should be used for best results.
Step 1: Grinding the bolt carrier bottom.

The first step is to grind off the sear and retracting handle bosses until the
bottom of the bolt carrier is flat with the diameter of the carrier. Then radius the
bottom rear to make a smooth riding surface for the hammer, bevel the front of the
rear raised portion also.  Next grind off the mushroomed end of the feed stud and
drive it out
Cut off the feed stud so that it just sticks through the ejector sleeve and radius
the bottom so that it does not protrude into the hole.
An alternate method is to make a feed stud from a 5/16" socket head cap screw.
thread the hole in the bolt carrier, and the bolt can be screwed and locktited in place.
