MG 42 Grip tutorial
Step 1: Prepping the parts.
Using a 5mm drill, drill out the hammer pin holes. With a 4mm drill, drill
out the trigger pin and trigger stop pin holes. Then fit the side plates to the
bottom plate, and the front and rear plates. The hole in the rear plate
goes to the right. They should fit tight. A small amount of filing may be
necessary. Do not make the parts to loose as they snap together to
ensure the box is square.
New V2.0 grip conversion parts kit contains 2 side plates, bottom
plate, front and back plates, a hammer spacer washer, 2 mounting tabs, 1
mounting pin, trigger return spring retainer, hammer, trigger and trigger
stop pins.
Step 2: marking and cutting the grip housing.
Align the assembled box with the front and top of the grip and scribe a
line on the bottom and back for the cutout.
